Deliveries announce themselves at the gate instead of hunting the yard for the right door, which keeps manoeuvring traffic on one line.
Twelve gates and two entry points are a straightforward site — as long as you know it. A driver arriving for the first time pulls into the yard, stops, asks and reverses. That costs more room than the delivery itself.
In this sample project the conversation therefore happens at the gate. The door station sits at cab height and can be used from the driver's seat; dispatch sees the vehicle, names the gate and only then releases the barrier. The second entry point stays free for collections.
Less searching and less shunting happens in the yard as a result. A driver who knows where to go before entering does not block the through road.
