Mounting height, contrast and call button are chosen so the entrance stays usable for every visitor — in a wheelchair, with a walking aid, without reading glasses.
A medical centre is used mostly by people for whom walking, gripping or reading is difficult. An entrance that works well for the average visitor is the wrong benchmark here.
In this sample project the operating zone therefore sits low enough to be reached from a seated position and high enough not to require stooping. The nine practices are labelled large and light on a dark ground; the call buttons have a definite action and acknowledge audibly.
For the staff this mostly changes the number of questions. Someone who finds the right name and can tell the call went through does not ring three times or walk to the wrong door.
